APSI supports and encourages international experience as part of a comprehensive education. Duke offers many opportunities for students to conduct research abroad or to deepen their country and regional expertise, including advancing their language skills.

Students interested in integrating experience in one or more Asian countries into their academic programs should contact APSI.

APSI offers financial assistance for study or research abroad to Duke students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional), postdocs, and faculty.

Meiji University Exchange

Each year, up to two graduate students from Duke can spend a semester (or year) at Meiji University in Tokyo! Through this program for Duke students, Meiji University will waive tuition and provide a stipend that can be applied toward living expenses (housing, etc.).

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), a top-ranked comprehensive university based in Hsinchu, offers full scholarships to students from select universities (including Duke) to study Chinese language in Taiwan. Undergrads and graduate students may apply.
