Speaker

Mariko Azuma, Yeonwoo Koo

The final installment of APSI's Summer Book Club for 2023 is a discussion of Ruth Ozeki's The Book of Form and Emptiness, led by Mariko Azuma and Yeonwoo Koo. This thought-provoking novel won the UK 2022 Women's Prize for Fiction.

APSI book club events are open to members of the Duke community as well as the general public.  This event is co-organized by the East Asian + Asian Diaspora Studies (EAADS) student working group.

About the book (from the publisher): With its blend of sympathetic characters, riveting plot, and vibrant engagement with everything from jazz, to climate change, to our attachment to material possessions, The Book of Form and Emptiness is classic Ruth Ozeki—bold, wise, poignant, playful, humane and heartbreaking.
