Our keynote speaker, Yu Xie, is the esteemed Bert G. Kerstetter '66 University Professor of Sociology at Princeton University, with a scholarly focus on social stratification, demography, statistical methods, Chinese studies, and sociology of science. Professor Xie is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Academia Sinica and the National Academy of Sciences.
Opening remarks will be provided by M. Giovanna Merli, professor of public policy, sociology and global health at the Sanford School of Public Policy and director of the Duke University Population Research Institute. Shitong Qiao, Professor of Law and Ken Young-Gak Yun and Jinah Park Yun Research Scholar at Duke University School of Law, will facilitate the dialogue.
