DKU China Town Hall 2020 event title, time, and speakers

The Duke Kunshan University (DKU) China Town Hall 2020 aims to provide a learning and sharing platform for our DKU community, together with those accomplished educators and experts who lead the panel discussion. The event proceedings will be conducted according to Chatham House rules. We are expecting a lively discussion and exchange between you and these notable experts:

  • moderator: Yichen Zhang, the Chairman and CEO of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited
  • panelist: Scott MacEachern, the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs at DKU
  • panelist: Joyce Ma, the China Country Director of The Nature Conservancy
  • panelist: John Van Fleet, Director of Corporate Globalization at Antai College of Shanghai Jiaotong University, also the Chair of Education Committee of AmCham in Shanghai

China Town Hall is an annual event designed to inform and educate the public as well as students and professionals about the latest developments in the US-China relations. It takes place in over 100 cities across the US and numerous venues overseas, which allows for local communities across and beyond the United States to discuss issues in the US-China relationship with leading experts.

  • 16:30 pm – 16:50 pm -- Moderator’s comments on Ray Dalio’s keynote & transition to the panel;
  • 16:50 pm – 17:15 pm -- Points by each panelist;
  • 17:15 pm – 18:00 pm -- Panel Discussion & Questions from Audience.


In order to help our moderator and speakers understand your major concerns or questions related to China-US Cooperation in Higher Education, we would appreciate if you can send your questions and thoughts in advance, once you have watched the keynote address. (Examples of frequently asked questions: Will US-China relations be recovering when Joe Biden becomes the US President?
