APSI's summer book club is returning to a computer near you in summer 2026! The books have been chosen to set the stage for APSI's annual keynote talk (November 12, 2026) which will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen.

Professor Marguerite Nguyen (Duke) launches our two-book sequence with a July 14 discussion of Nguyen's 2015 multiple award-winning debut novel, The Sympathizer.

Professor Eileen Cheng-yin Chow (Duke) then concludes the series on August 17, discussing Nguyen's newest book, To Save and to Destroy, which was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism.
