APSI fosters an active community of scholars of East and Southeast Asia, promotes the highest standards of undergraduate and graduate education in Asian Studies, and enhances awareness of Asian cultures at Duke and across the Triangle.
We are looking for an organized, creative, and dedicated colleague who will coordinate public programs and events, track and reconcile the unit's finances, manage the visiting scholars program, and coordinate the daily operations of the office.
Our ideal candidate has experience with office management, event planning, and accounting, particularly in an academic setting. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and attention to detail. Knowledge of grant administration and varying sponsor rules and regulations is preferred. A background in East Asian Studies (including language skills in Chinese, Korean, and/or Japanese) is a major plus but is not required.
