The Judith Deckers Prize, first awarded in 2024, recognizes faculty leaders who have substantial track records of positively affecting student learning and lives.
In the second year, Professor Eileen Chow, APSI DGS (and interim director for Fall 2025) was one of the 12 finalists selected from 225 nominated faculty members. The initial rubric assessed the nominees’ classroom environment, teaching effectiveness, student outcomes, and contributions to their department, colleagues, and the broader campus community.
The finalists will next be evaluated according to their teaching portfolio and letters of support by a committee of representatives from across the schools teaching undergraduates.
