Professor Jingqiu Guan premieres first feature-length documentary with screening in Oregon
Congratulations to Professor Jingqiu Guan on the debut of her first feature-length documentary!
“Mama Dancers” premieres Saturday, March 8, at the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival in Oregon. Co-directed with Xiaojiao Hu (Yang Tao), this film tells the stories of six diverse professional dancers. Over the course of the film, audiences will witness them navigate the dance of life as they balance the rhythms of motherhood and their demanding careers, unveiling the joys, struggles, and triumphs of pursuing their dreams.

In a comment about the upcoming premiere, Professor Guan noted, “Their stories reveal these women's incredible courage and resilience as they navigate motherhood and their passion for dance. They all have inspired me tremendously in many ways.
March 8 is also International Women's Day. I find it so special to share this film on a day that is dedicated to and celebrates women around the world!”
