Anqi Zheng

My name is Anqi Zheng. I received my B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. My main research interest is material culture and intercultural communication in early modern and modern China. Gender, especially the relationship between women and religion/technology, attracts me too. In my senior thesis, I had the opportunity to explore my interests on gender by analyzing crime stories concerning women offering incense in the late Ming novels. At Duke, I wish to inquire about more interdisciplinary perspectives with my future professors and classmates. Outside of school, I enjoy playing video games, reading and writing fan fiction. Also, I love to try food from all over the world!
