Student

Boyi Pang is a Ph.D. student in World Christianity in Duke University’s Graduate Program in Religion. His research focuses on Christianity in modern and contemporary East Asia, particularly the intersections of religion, politics, and transnational networks in Greater China.

His current research examines Catholicism in Cold War Taiwan, with particular attention to church-state relations and the Catholic Church’s involvement in diplomacy and geopolitics across the Asia-Pacific, situated within the broader contexts of the global Cold War and Taiwan’s domestic White Terror.

Boyi received his B.A. from Shaanxi Normal University, an M.A. in Religious Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and an M.Phil. in History from the University of Macau.
