Jia'er Liu

My name is Jia’er Liu. You can also call me Eugenia. I obtained my B.A. in English Literature from Nanjing University in Nanjing, China. My studies in English Literature, complemented by courses in Chinese literature, have deepened my appreciation of how literature shapes and is shaped by its social context. Building on multiple research experiences, my research interests have evolved towards Chinese literature and popular culture, with a particular emphasis on the authorship and representation of gender and sexuality in literature texts as well as other mediums. Outside school, I enjoy working in drama clubs. I’m also a fan of Japanese animation and K-POP music.
