Meilin Long

My name is Meilin Long, and I received my B.A. in English from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. During the first two years of my undergraduate studies, I focused on learning English as a foreign language. In my third year, I studied abroad at UC Berkeley, where I delved into British and American literature. By the end of that year, I found myself increasingly aware of the social issues in China, which, combined with a sense of patriotism, led me to re-explore my interests in Chinese society, politics and history. This journey brought me to Duke's EAS program, where I aim to rediscover myself and my country. Outside of academics, I am passionate about the arts, including fiction writing, drawing and playing the piano.
