East Asian Studies MA student
My name is Yaqing Zhuang, and I graduated from Sichuan University. My main research interests are modern Chinese material culture, cross-cultural communication, and East Asian minority art and culture. I grew up in southwest China, which is the largest minority gathering area in China and has a very rich ethnic culture. These cultures have had a profound impact on me and created unique conditions for my research.
During my undergraduate studies, I followed my supervisor to conduct field research in minority gathering areas in Yunnan and Sichuan, andparticipated in my supervisor's national projects. After field visits and reading a lot of literature, I became more determined to love minority art and culture.
At the same time, my undergraduate major is art history. During the four years of study, I found that the essence of art is culture. Behind the exploration of each country and national art is the difference in cultural concepts, so I have a strong interest in cross-cultural communication.
I also have a wide range of interests and hobbies. I like playing piano, guitar, watching rock performances, skiing and playing tennis.
